Poojika began with a simple frustration: the ritual of lighting incense — meant to bring calm, clarity, and connection — had, for most of us, become an afterthought. Mass-produced sticks, heavy with charcoal and synthetic smoke, filled rooms with scent but stripped away the very stillness incense is supposed to create. We wanted something different. Not louder, not sweeter — truer. So we set out to reimagine incense the way the world's finest perfume houses think about fragrance: with restraint, with intention, and with an obsession over what goes into every stick. That meant walking away from charcoal altogether. It meant sourcing fragrance oils the way a perfumer would — layered, balanced, built to unfold slowly rather than announce themselves all at once. And it meant treating each stick not as a commodity, but as a small, considered object — something you'd want to hold before you light it.
Every batch at Poojika is charcoal-free by design, hand-finished in small quantities, and rolled with natural bases that burn clean and slow. Our fragrances are composed, not manufactured — drawing inspiration from the same world of fine perfumery that shapes candles and colognes, adapted here for the quiet ritual of the home.
